‘Looop Lapeta’ Movie Review: Had it not been told at the very beginning of the film that this film is an official remake of the German film ‘Run Lola Run’, there would have been no hope of doubt except for a slight similarity in the story. This is because of its team of writers. Director Akash Bhatia along with Vinay Chhawal (member of the writing team of the famous web series Asur and Irrfan’s last film Angrezi Medium), Puneet Chaddha, Arnav Nanduri and Ketan Pedgaonkar have helmed the original Indianisation of this brilliant remake. There are many surfaces in the story and all of them are funny, so one writer was not enough. Looop Lapeta is a fun-filled film for the urban audience. Is settled in Goa but not Susegad. The moves are fun, and the style of storytelling is also full of carefree fun. If you watch the film a little carefully, then perhaps some funny hidden stories will be seen.

A lot has been hidden in the film’s story and its layers. How the story of Satyavan-Savitri has been woven into a German film, it is interesting to understand. Satyajit (Tahir) and Savina Borkar (Taapsee) i.e. Satya and Savi i.e. Satyavan and Savitri. Making fun of gender stereotypes, Tahir gets to play the role of Savitri. Narad Muni says Narayan is Narayan and in today’s world, cash Narayan has taken its place. If there is a good intention, the work gets done well, Taapsee understands this thing very late and it takes time for Tahir to understand that it is wrong to expect someone else to take away your sorrows.

There is also a shot of a girl with red hair in a scene to remind us of Run Lola Run. A jewelery showroom has also been set up in the streets of Goa by Mr. Mamlesh Charan Chadha, whose two sons continue to rob the showroom separately and are caught by their father because of their dirty handwriting. When Taapsee breaks the side view mirror of the car with a broken knee, her leg hurts, how small and how important an observation. In the background, the azaan also comes at the right time and in the jewelery showroom, a very new language bhajan is heard paying tribute to Narendra Chanchal. Many things are visible by watching the film carefully.

Taapsee Pannu has once again raised the flag of women empowerment, although this time this form is a bit unique. It seems that some films due to their size and budget Because of this, she reaches Taapsee’s door directly. At one time this started happening with Kangana Ranaut, but some of her films flopped and some filmgoers did not like her behavior with everyone. Watch some of Taapsee’s past movies like Rashmi Rocket, Haseen Dilruba, Thappad, Saand Ki Aankh…. The characters in all these were good, there were also a few feminists and Taapsee did not have to work hard to play them. There are quite a few characters similar to his mood. Tahir Raj Bhasin was struggling for a long time and suddenly since last two months he has started appearing everywhere.

First appeared in the role of Sunil Gavaskar in Kabir Khan’s film 83, then two big web series, Yeh Kali Kali Aankhen and Ranjish Hi Sahi and now Loop Wrapped. Kahan used to work in short films, and even after appearing in a disgusting role as a villain opposite Rani Mukherjee in a film like Mardaani, it took time for Tahir to get a big lead role. Better late than never. There is another artist in the film whom no one has been able to use properly till now – Dibyendu Bhattacharya. The first important role of his film career was Yeda Yakub in Anurag Kashyap’s film Black Friday. After working in many films, he started getting opportunities to do web series of OTT platform and in the last 3-4 years he is seen doing good work in a dozen web series.

There are 4 songs in the film, by different composers. These are the musicians who do more independent music, so despite having excellent composition and lyrics, the songs will not become hits. Each and every song has been selected and made to suit. Background music is composed by Band The Jam Room (Rahul Pais, Nariman Khambatta) which is another link in the series of highlights of this film. At one place there is abuse in Hindi and at many places there is abuse in English. It is a common thing in Goa. One thing which is never digested is Taapsee reaching the casino and winning the gambling by playing bets, while there is no coincidence in which she can reach the casino. Well it is a small matter and Tahir’s character is a gambler from the beginning, so it can be ignored. There is no backstory of Tahir’s character, while Taapsee’s is, that’s why it is awkward, but the film will be seen because of Taapsee, this is also true.

Director Akash Bhatia had earlier directed some episodes of Excel Entertainment’s well-known web series on cricket “Inside Edge”. This is his first film. It is written very carefully, made very carefully and it is clearly visible that he is keeping a sharp eye on every department. Cinematographer of many short films Yash Khanna has removed the magic from the camera. Storytelling like Guy Ritchie’s films like Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Matthew Vaughan’s Layer Cake can be seen in this film. Editor Priyanka Prem Kumar has kept the film tight and probably because of this, the entry of Inspector David’s character has been done directly and there is no backstory of Tahir’s character.

Because of this editing, you will hesitate to miss anything. Another colorful aspect of the film is the art direction by Santosh Vishwakarma and production design by Pradeep Paul Francis and Diya Mukherjee. The beauty or filth of Goa has been saved from shooting and only the story of the film has been taken care of. Looop Wrapeta is a victory for director Akash Bhatia and writer Mandali as it has a new frame of originality on the soul of remake. It is worth noting that 3 “o”s are shown in the spelling of loop in English and the story also ends in three ways.
